Every camp we ask for commanders to volunteer to help run the Games portion of the event. Well, this year is no different. Below you will find a link to a page where you can sign up for the event you want to help run. Sr. Commanders if you want to volunteer your outpost to take a slot then fill it with the commanders who are with you at Pow Wow you can do that as well. Instead of entering your name just enter your outpost number and select the slots you want to take. You can take as many slots as you want. If you want to have 2 commanders take the same time slot then you will have to enter your information differently…. For example, if you are Outpost 9999, and you want to take both 9:30 slots of Bowling you will have to enter Outpost 9999 for the first one then OP#9999 for the second. Commander's Awards

Commanders,
It is now time to fill out your application for your 2009 commander’s award. There is an award for everyone, and if you were doing an effective job in your position, it is very likely that you qualify for that award.
Some commanders fail to fill out the application for their award, either because they let the deadline pass, or they feel that they don't need an award for doing their job. Your boys need to see you earning awards. We expect them to earn their awards; they need to see you doing the same.
Applications for leaders awards can all be found online (click on the name of the award below for the application). There are different awards for leaders serving in different capacities:
- Outpost Commander's Award -- for leaders who serve as the main leader for an age group (wears two blue bars)
- Outpost Leader's Service Award -- for leaders who serve as a lieutenant commander, outpost council member, or chaplain of an outpost
- Senior Commander's Award -- for the senior commander of an outpost
- Junior Leader's Service Award -- for Adventure Rangers and Expedition Rangers who serve in a leadership position (junior commander, senior guide, patrol guide, etc.)
- Pastor's Award -- for the pastor of a church (or staff pastors like a Children's Pastor) who supports Royal Rangers in the local church
When you go to the national web site, you may notice that there are award applications for 2009 and others for 2009-10. Starting this year we are shifting from earning/awarding leaders awards on an annual basis to an academic year basis. So this coming September we will be accepting applications for awards for the 2009-10 academic year, and those awards will be presented at Winter Camp. More info on these awards will come out later this year, but for now make sure you fill out the award application for 2009, and NOT the one for 2009-10.
There are also awards for those who serve in staff positions beyond the local outpost.
Requirements
All of these awards require that you be a member of a chartered outpost. This is one of the benefits of chartering. If your outpost is not chartered for the 2009-10 charter year, it's not too late to charter so that you and your commanders can participate in this recognition program. If you are not chartered, you do not qualify for any of these awards.
Your pastor and/or senior commander must also sign your application. Even if the application states "district commander" the application must first be signed by your senior pastor or the associate that Royal Rangers reports to, or your senior commander.
If you are receiving an award for the first time, we provide both the medal and Class B ribbon. The fee is $15 for those earning an award for the first time.
If you are receiving an award for more than the first time, we will provide the numeral for both your medal and your Class B ribbon, and the fee is $3.
Applications should be postmarked no later than April 1, and should be mailed, along with the appropriate fee, to the district Royal Rangers office:

Awards this year will be presented at Pow Wow before the Saturday evening service. This allows us to present your award to you in front of your boys. They need to see you receiving your award!

2009 Elite JLC was a success!!

ELITE JUNIOR LEADERSHIP CAMP

Commanders:
It was a great week. We had fifteen of our top Royal Rangers at camp for the first Elite JLC camp in our district. It is truly amazing to spend a week with these guys. The council fires are what it is all about. We do other stuff, shot gun merit, archery merit, etc. It is God’s presence in these young men that makes the week incredible.
Of the fifteen seven already had their sabers and four were awarded at the end of camp. You can be proud of the Royal Rangers you have trained and raised up.
We have lots of pictures and will get them up on the web site.
I wanted you to see this one. Graduation.
